Spiced Hazelnut Hot Chocolate

A delicious hot chocolate with an added antioxidant boost.

Ingredients 


500ml milk (use any plant based or dairy milk, hazelnut is delicious)
4 tbsp cacao powder
2 tbsp maple syrup 
30g dark chocolate, 70% plus
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp vanilla bean paste
1 tsp maca (optional)


Method

01 / Place the hazelnut milk into a small saucepan over a low heat for a few minutes until steaming. Add the squares of dark chocolate and stir, but do not let the milk boil. Remove from the heat. 

02 / In each cup, mix 2 tbsp cacoa powder, sprinkle of cinnamon, vanilla bean pasta and maca, 1 tbsp maple syrup and 2 tbsp of hot milk and stir to form a paste.

03 / Divide the hot hazelnut milk between each mug and stir well. 

04 / Serve with some marshmallows on top and a stick of dark chocolate if you’re feeling extra indulgent.
